David and Esther

“I was unwanted by my parents and never received their love.”

“I want to show the real love of God to my people” David proclaims from the bottom of his heart.

“My parents were hoping for a boy, and therefore did not want me.”

“How can I keep to myself what God has done in my life,” Esther shares with tears in her eyes.

Their Story:

In 2002 David and Esther met. Both were unwanted. Both had a desire to love and be loved. They connected on a deep level and got married. However, because of them having a love marriage instead of the typical Indian arranged marriage, they were rejected once again by both of their families. Determined to stay together, they wanted a family of their own. In 2005 their beautiful baby girl Faith was born. Life was challenging on their own without any family support, so David, not having work experience, found it hard to find a consistent job. This brought a financial crisis in which David started drinking and smoking. Life spiraled downhill to the point where one day David abandoned his wife and his six-month-old daughter on the side of the road. He ran as far away from his family and responsibilities as he could. Esther was found by the side of the road and taken in by a loving family. In awe, she heard for the first time that there was a God who knew and loved her. After some time of questioning, listening, and learning, she made a decision to follow God. With new-found faith, she began to pray that the Lord would perform a miracle in David’s life. She recalls, “God is so good. God has done so many miracles in our lives. He is faithful, always!”

God answered Esther’s prayers. As David came to the end of himself, he joined a rehabilitation program in New Delhi. During one prayer meeting, he heard the voice of God. That day he committed his life to God and was filled with God’s presence, purpose, and love. He was convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, would be able to separate him from the love of God. Moreover, God impressed these words from Jeremiah on him,  “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

God miraculously reunited David and Esther. They had both surrendered their lives to His will. God gave them another beautiful baby girl and they named her Julia. Together they prayed that God would reveal His specific will and direction over their lives. God spoke clearly to both, “PROCLAIM MY LOVE TO YOUR PEOPLE.”

Although David and Esther have had limited resources, over the last 15 years they have given their all to their God and their people. “We want to show HIS GREAT LOVE to our people who have been rejected just as we were,” declare David and Esther.

David and Esther are so very grateful to any of you who would join in this God-given task to pray and proclaim His love to the overlooked people of India. Faith, their daughter, is now finishing high school and about to study in the healthcare field. She wants to use her gifts among the overlooked. Her sister Julia is involved as well, supporting her parents and the girls who live at the House of Grace.

TOGETHER FOR HIM

“May God bless you,” David, Esther, Faith, and Julia
